We believe God's people are a holy people, separated from the world, and manifesting the fruit of the Spirit in their lives. We also believe and use only the King James Bible. |
LINKS | ADDRESS INFO | EMAIL US After a long, courageous fight with cancer, Lisa Owen went to be with
the Lord yesterday morning. What a
testimony she was to everyone! She
will be sadly missed. We’ll see
you in Heaven with Bro. Jeff soon! Pray for their families. From our Pastor: I’ve
been wondering a bit about this generation that is CHANGING so rapidly around
us. I guess I'm old and out of step with them and in many
ways thankful that I am. They
talk of different ages and generations and give names to them, like
"generation X” and “baby boomers." The Bible speaks often of the changes in
the character of people at different times; for example; there was a
generation in Judges 2:10 which knew not the Lord. Then in Proverbs
30:11 “a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their
mother.” The next verse says
"there is a generation that are pure in
their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.” I'm trying
to press this point that we are living in a new and what I classify as a
spoiled generation far different then the one I was raised in and looking
more each day like the one Paul described in II Timothy 3. One wonders if there is hope at all for
this generation that is so void of the good ground that the Bible speaks
of that is necessary for true conversion. We’re the most unstable, uncommitted,
undisciplined and intemperate bunch that ever lived on planet Earth. Some are
fat, lazy and at the lowest levels of Christianity, if they are even
genuine. Moms
are raising prima-donnas instead of righteous young ladies that love their
husbands and their children. They
can't cook, sew or keep a house clean, but the biggest problem is that they
fail utterly to train the children in the right way to go. Then you have boys that have little or
no manhood put in them. They are
weak and have never been taught to endure hardness. It is scary to think that the next leaders
of our country are feminized in their reasoning and afraid to stand on
principles that they believe in.
I’ve
got to run but I have a lot more burning down inside on this matter. Lord my helper I will try and write more later. Pastor
Owen In my
last remarks I made the statement that many of the professing Christians are
fat and lazy; allow me to clarify that statement and press on with this
spoiled generation. Twice in the Word
of God you read that the hearts of people are "waxed gross". Strong's no. 3975 says this means "to
thicken-to fatten-stupefy, render callous.
I take it to mean that they have all of God they want and not desiring
any more. They are content with the fullness of fables and ear-
tickling, lies and lightness they are hearing weekly. They are fat with false doctrines and
heresies to the point they are ready to pop.
You can't teach them the truth as they are full to the brim
with the imaginations of their own wicked heart. Most have a faith of their own that suits
them to the ‘T’ and allows them to live the way they want. If you don't believe this, just grab your
KJV 1611 Bible and ask some of these modern, fat, "in need of
nothing", if they will show you their faith in the Word of
God. Not only are they full and have no thirst for more of God,
they are also the lazy, welfare attitude-type who want
others to provide a spiritual atmosphere for them. They will not spend time in prayer
themselves, nor will they study the Word.
They want you to offer a sacrifice for them and entertain
them while doing it. Just watch
any service where a man of God is laboring to preach the Word and see how
many are supportive or even listening with an interest to walk closer to
God. How many in the congregation do
you think prays for the messenger and for the Spirit to move on sinners?
I know that I'm sounding as if I'm angry and to some degree I am
but I will try not to sin in this spirit that I have but it's time we
"earnestly contend for the faith that was first delivered to the
saints.”
This
generation appears to have little or no concept whatsoever of the doctrines
of God's Word. Take for
example what the Bible has to say about the Church that our Lord loves
and gave Himself for. I read the other day in a survey that many
believe that an outing with the family is the same as going to church.
Another said that watching a TV message is the same as church. Most of those home meetings are nothing
more than a Bible study that has no authority or connection to the true
Church. The Church that Jesus built
was established with authoritative preaching not a bunch of people
sitting around a coffee table asking one another what they think the Bible is
saying. The true Church is organized; a called out assembly with a God
called leader, call him what you may. He was an overseer, a pastor that
preached with the anointing of the Holy Spirit as a gift to the church. Away with this form of Godliness that calls
itself part of the Church and at the same time mocking it's very existence.
I've got to run but I will say this to all that have
jumped overboard; the Old Ship of Zion is still sailing on and will soon
reach the shores of heaven. Pastor Owen
